How is it that 160,000 of these things were sold in the U.S., and I haven't seen one in ages? Or are they just so boring that they've become invisible to me?

That last sentence is why most cars are invisible to us. We see thousands of cars a day, and simply filter out ones that aren't special.

My father in law has one, when they came out they were pretty nice. Basically a Malibu that was a tad smaller.

My mother ones one, bought it new in June of 2007. Mechanically, it's been solid as a drum after 89,000 miles. The build quality ... ehhhh, not so much. Also, the driving position is absolutely terrible.

Actually, the Saturn Aura is the exact same size as the 2008 Malibu. It isn't smaller; they both ride on the same 112.3 inch wheelbase. In fact, the '08 Malibu shares a good number of parts directly with the Aura.

Not gonna lie, I get excited when I see an Aura or Astra. Even the Outlook to an extent.

Good to know, for some reason when we were shopping at the time the Malibu seemed bigger.

LOL funny you should mention it... I was behind one when I went to get lunch today. I was thinking about the GM recall and wondered if the Aura was one of the recalled vehicles.

I see them all the time around where I live. I see a ton of 2008-2010 Saturns around here though.

Maybe the color or layout of the interior lent to the cramped feel? Did these later Saturns still have the polymer body panels like my beautiful 04 Saturn Vue. I loved that car, except for the electrical gremlins.

I see these things all the time in Wisconsin.
